Posted: Tue Jun 25, 2019 13:57 Post subject: Build reccommendation for Asus RT-N66U: Recently i flashed my n66u to ddwrt (DD-WRT v3.0-r39956 big (06/06/19). Which im very happy to be back on ddwrt. However I've been getting some issues with wifi dropout (requiring router reboot) and poor N network behavior and speed.

I replaced two of the wrt320n's that i had to cover my house and the single 56u in the bottom side of my house covers the entire thing with excellent coverage. The Asus RT-N66U is absolutely an impressive piece of hardware. Seriously powerful, feature packed, aesthetically pleasing, and at an approachable price point for the hobbyist. I think you'll find that this holds true by reading all the great reviews here. There are definitely two weak points to be aware of, however. Upload the DD-WRT trailed build (N66U big or mega .trx) using the stock web GUI. When complete, wait until the router reboots itself, which can take at least 10 minutes .
